LIQUOR APPLICATIONS New Chicadee Arcade El Cholo Cafe Goldririgs' Cafeteria Sub House LIQUOR LICENSE Randles Cafe LIQUOR APPLICATIONS Changes American Legion Red & White Cafe PROPOSED ORDINANCE Rezoning Herr Estates and Stocker Property MOSS TRACT NO. 5 Final Map Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. This being the time set for the public hearing on the appeal of the F.C.B. Inc. of the denial of their application to construct a motel within 50 feet of the centerline of Charleston Boulevard in an area that requires a 90 feet setback; said property situated on the south side of Charleston near the intersection of Fremont between Eastern Avenue and the Boulder Highway, His Honor asked if there were any objections to this variance. There were none voiced. There was one letter from Mrs. G.G. Dahlquist, owner of the Bank Club Building on file. Thereafter discussion was had with Mr. Neil Berk and it was requested that the F.C.B Inc., secure an expression from the State Highway Department regarding this variance. Commissioner Jarrett moved this public hearing be continued until August 19, 1953. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of James J. Tatum dba Chic-a-dee Arcade, 1314 F Street for a Restaurant Beverage license for the third quarter of 1953 be approved subject to investigation by the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Hortense McKierman dba El Cholo Cafe, 625 South 5th Street for a Restaurant Beverage license for the third quarter of 1953 be approved subject to investigation by the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following voter Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Lester and Elsie Goldring dba Goldring’s Cafeteria, 108 Fremont for a Cabaret Liquor license for the third quarter of 1953 be denied due to the fact this building has been condemned. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The application of Harry F. Rahner dba the Sub House, 416 Jackson for a restaurant beverage license was continued until August 5, 1953. Commissioner Whipple moved that Amy Randle owner of Randle’s Cafe also know as the Hole in the Wall, 1329 North E Street be notified to appear before the Board at the next regular meeting on August 5, 1953 to show cause why her Restaurant Beverage license should not be revoked. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of the American Legion Post No. 8 to transfer their liquor license to the VFW Hall on North 5th Street be held in abeyance until August 5, 1953. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Julia Bananto dba Red And White Cafe, 801 South 1st Street for a Restaurant Beverage License, formerly issued to Richard X. Kynett, be approved subject to investigation by the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 378, REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, 1949, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Jarrett and Sharp for recommendation. Commissioner Whipple moved the final map of Moss Tract No. 5 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same.
