S r cannot agree with Mr| Bracken’s recommendation, m Production of Middle Springs has been measured a number of times at between 200,000 and 100,000 GPD, vfclchjle now flowing to waste. Because of vegetable contamination we oannot use this w a t e r without treatment, and it was to avoid waste that we secured authority for and, except for the labor situation would have completed installation of the chlorinating facilities. We spent an appreciable amount of money this year with the local newspapers and the radio in conducting an edu­cational campaign to bring about conservation in use of water,|| and the campaign was quite successful. I do not see, however, how ve can expect the public of Las Vegas to conserve water when in our own water producing field we countenance the de­liberate waste of this large quantity. Before Installation of the pipe lines which now serve the Biltaore Addition, we were obliged to allow water to flow down the creek to comply with our deed requirement to furnish four miner’s inches to the Stewart Burial Tract. This require­ment Is now met by furnishing water from our distribution system* The Las Vegas Ranch is furnished with domestic water from a 3 " well north of Fifth Street, and we are under no obli­gation to furnish water from the producing field for irrigation purposes. Ons of these days our artesian flow will cease, and then, or even perhaps before that time, Middle Springs will cease to flow.
