Reinhardt - Los Angeles Attached Is a full page paid advertisement appearing in the LAS VEGAS SUN date: The Chamber of Commerce states that while It has been and will continue to oppose the space heating ban, It Is not sponsoring or In favor of this type of publicity. The Chamber of Commerce advises the advertisement was sponsored and financed principally by a group of builders and electrical equipment supply firms in the city. I am also attaching clipping from today% morning papers concerning controversy over the sale and purchase of a motel in which space heating had been installed presumably contrary to the ban. The original owner installed wiring for space heating during construction last fall. The Power Company refused to serve the motel until the power wiring was removed. After removal of the power wiring, the Power Company furnished service for lighting and cooking. When the cold weather set in, the motel owner reinstalled power wiring to space heaters and the Power Company accepted payment for energy used. When the prospective purchaser made application for service, the Power Company refused service, unless purchaser agreed to discontinue space heating if found in violation of the ban, whioh he has refused to do.
