For Building Swiming Pool ‘ • '•f' nite site for the two pools and Plans for the construction _of two swimming pools in the city of Las Vegas were delayed to- day by the city board pending preparation of the bond issue by representatives of an investment house which is expected to he completed in the next few weeks. It was pointed out that money should not be expended in preparing for the pools until it was ascertained that the bond issue was legal. & _ ,, The board also requested tne planning board to select a defi- report back to the next meeting of the board. j City Manager Charles^C. Me-- Call, in a report to the board, in-: dicated that the estimated actual, cost of construction of the twor pools Would be about $90,000 and, the cost of the construction of '; buildings and grounds would be about $60,000. The rest of the; $150,000 would be expended for architect and engineering fees with $1,000 allocated to the preparation of the bond issue. . The Paddock Engineering company, of Los Angeles, has been; ! recommended to the board to do thb work on the swimming pools. In his report to the board, Mc- Icall said the large pool in the i city park would .be 150 feet long I The pools will take about 538,- ; 1000 gallons of water for filling f with the water being recirculated f during the entire swiiriining S6,a.- i son. However, to take care of i! the evaporation, splash,, etc., it . is estimated that 1,614,000 additional gallons will be required \from the city supply.
