Adamson*s letter to Mr. J.P Mack of March 12th, File 7334, furnishing prints of Drawings 16052 covering details of new settling basin to be constructed along water pipe line to the wells at Las Vegas, was referred to McNeil Construction Co., requesting them to give us a proposal to erect same, based on the railroad company performing the rough excavation with dragline and furnishing all necessary materials going into the structure. The proposal we received from the McNeil Construction Company states that they will construct same on the basis of 10$ fee of the actual cost, including materials furnished by the railroad company, but did not give a guaranteed maximum cost due to the fact that the materials were being furnished by the railroad company. Perkins, he states he has no advise that authority had been granted to construct settling basin, and does not find it covered by W, 0, 2013 or 2029 and, therefore, he cannot request approval of General Manager for authority to have Me Nell Construction Co. to build it. He desires to know the estimated cost of this settling basin and authority for constructing same. If the cost is to be charged to W, 0. 2029, he desires to know if this will cause an over-run of this authority. in order to make reply to Mr. Perkins* office.
