Every­thing points to the feet that there Is more water available! wells are being drilled! new resort hotels are being established. There’s no shortage out on the strip| no shortage of thoso people that own wells. The shortage only is felt by the people who are leaning cm the water officials for their source of water. I’m not a hydraulic engineer but 1 think that anybody with good common sense and deduction can realise that we are not getting enough water while ethers are that have wells or are located out en the atrip or out in the Comity. This problem is a serious problem, Zt affects the growth of this City, and this City is growing. It's trebled in popula­tion since 19M). Has the Water Company or the Railroad Company trebled their facilities in the last ten years? That question has arisen in my mind and in the minds of many peoplo In this community. Representatives from the later Company and the Rail­road Company have Indicated that they don’t want to Invest any more capital in the water system. They have also indicated that they are waiting for someone to take the white elephant out of their hands. The Water District Is in the position that they Water Company or the can’t deal with ths^ Railroad, and neither Is the City. If we were In a position to deal with them, we would have dealt last year—not now or next year. As long as the tihiaa Pacific and the Water Company have accepted this utility, 1 believe it’s up to them to furnish the product that they represent, It's up to
