Bennett Las Vegas - October 6, 1953 f 23-1-119 Dear Mr. Campbell: Please refer to my letter to Mr. G. William Coulthard dated August 4, 1953 file W 23-1-119 and W 26, submitting Detail of Estimated Expenditures and Drawing B-72? dated August 3, 1953, covering installa­tion of water meter and pressure reducing valve in connection with extension of water mains to serve Heers Subdivision Nevada-1. Also please refer to letter from James M. Montgomery (signed by R. E. Eberly) to Mr. Spencer L. Butterfield dated August 13, 1953, in which Mr. Montgomery disapproved the installation of pressure reducing valve, but approved the installation of the water meter. Subsequent to Mr. Montgomery's letter, approval has been obtained from executives of the Water Company for the installation of the water meter. However, I have held up the processing of the installa­tion of water meter with the thought in mind that, now that the Bond issue for purchase of the water system has been approved by the voters, it may be that the Districts requirements in connection with the opera­tion of the system may be such that it will not require this meter. At the present time all of the water produced by the Water Company is measured through the various existing meters and the data developed through these meter readings is used for statistical purposes and also as a basis for determination of the amount of Water Company's monthly bill against the Railroad Company for water used by them. Since the water system is now being purchased by the District, it is obvious that the need for this additional meter no longer exists insofar as the Water Company is concerned, since it will be sufficiently \
