    PROPOSED ORDINANCE Zoning Amendment $900,000.00 GENERAL OBLIGATION SEWER BONDS Bid Awarded SEWER IMPROVEMENT Schedule "A" Bid Awarded CITY ATTORNEY NIMLO Conference ANNEXATION PETITION LONELY HEARTS CLUBS An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 19 and 21 OF CHAPTER 24, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, BY FORBIDDING HOTELS IN AN R -4 DISTRICT; PROVIDING THAT HOTEL SHALL BE IN A C-2 DISTRICT PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Sharp and Whipple for recommendation. Commissioner Whipple moved the bid of Schwabacher & Co., Foster & Marshall Juran & Moody, Central Republic Co., Seasongood & Mayer and Coughlin & Co., as follows: Bonds 1954-63 5% Bonds 1964-67 4¼% Bonds 1968-72 4½% Bonds 1973-74 4. 30% Bonds 1975-76 4. 35% Bonds 1976-77 4.3/8% 8-5-53 be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved that letters be written to the other firms thanking them for their interest in our bonds and returning the deposit checks. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the bid of Charles J. Dorfman for the installation of improvements in Schedule "A" of the Sewer Improvement Project in the total amount of $85,463.20 be accepted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the request of City Attorney Howard W. Cannon for $500.00 to attend the NIMLO Conference in Washington D.C., September 14 through 16, 1953 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The petition of Anna Mohr to annex the N½ of Section 35, T20S, R60E, MDB&M was considered, at this time. Commissioner Whipple moved that the Clerk be authorized to give notice of a public hearing to be held August 19, 1953 for consideration of this and other petitions for annexation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker and Whipple requested additional time before reporting on the licensing of Lonely Hearts Clubs. There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, Commissioner Sharp moved this meeting adjourn. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
