fitter facilities ©f Railroads Vegas - October IV, V 23-3 1941 The acute housing problem, occasioned by the entrance of the Magnesium company, has brought about considerable activity in real estate, particularly in cater bearing lands* This act deity has extended to the Inaedl&te vicinity of cur cater lands. Recently thp northerly 300 acres in section 6 hag been purchased by l>. I* MeSell, and the Send Well is located thereon; other parties are actively negotiating for the SE Quarter of Section 31 and the SW Quarter of Section 32 for housing development, and these last mentioned quarters adjoin our property. They report a negotiated price of #60 per acre, and ce hare bacn offered refusal on-those two parcels* The cestcrly quarter section, or the SE quarter of section 31 is fairly good property for cater purposes but the St quarter of this section, owned by F. C. Splane, is, cc believe, much better eater-bearing land. I have seoured from Mr. Splane a verbal 10-day opt ion on this parcel at #60 per acre with an approximate area of 160 scree which could mate the price #9,600. X discussed this proposal with Mr. Strong, who Joins me in recommending authority to purchase the splane parcel at the price quoted, and the acquisition of this acreage ic in accordance with Mr. R. G. Greene's report. This will not only give us addition drilling land, but d l l also prevent calc of it to Others who might seriously drain cur present holdings. X could like to have your authority to make this purchase within the limit mentioned. Tours very truly, j — Walter r. Bsaanar co - Mr. Prank strong Vice President Mr. R. 6. Greene
