Mack) Referring to your letter February 10th, file 020-23, concerning pipe being held at Las Vegasg We have had some correspondence with Mr* Perkins and the Store Department concerning cast iron and transits pipe which was left over on completion of improvement of Las Vegas water facilities authorised tinder Work Order 3180* Under date of January 19th, I advised Mr* Perkins that, as it requires twelve months or longer to secure de­livery of material of this character, did not feel safe in releasing any of the pipe now being held. Under date of January 22nd, he advised Mr* Irish, as follows: tt0n account of the slow deliveries of materials of this character and our responsibility for maintaining water service at Las Vegas, i do not feel that it is safe to release this pipe and recommend that it be held at Las Vegas for possible repairs or extensions* Frank Strong
