4 BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada at a regular meeting held on the 4th day of December, 1957; having considered an application of Jo Ann Pulliam Fike for a use permit to authorize the establishment and operation of a "Treatment Center" by the Nevada Society for Crippled Children, Inc., at 818 South 7th Street, legally described as Lots 24 and 25; Block 31; South Addition; and The Board having considered the recommendation of the Board of Adjustment approving this application subject to 1-moving of a chain link fence at rear of property next to alley to provide off-street parking add 2-changing of front and rear doors to meet requirements of Building Code for this type occupancy; It is the decision of this Board that the application of Jo Ann Pulliam Fike for a use permit to authorize the establishment and operation of a "Treatment Center" by the Nevada Society for Crippled Children, Inc. at 818 South 7th Street be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioners Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Sharp. VARIANCE - V-12-57 Consideration was given to the application of Fred Phelps for a variance to con- Fred Phelps struct an addition to an existing dwelling, extending 14 feet into the required rear yard at 1813 South 9th Street, legally described as Lot 19, Oakridge Tract. Planning Director Bills advised that this application was approved by the Board of Adjustment. He reported that all off-site improvements are existing at this location and that no protests were received at the public hearing. His Honor asked if there was anyone present who wished to object to this variance. No one appeared. Public Hearing Set Mr. Bills reported the Planning Commission recommended approval of this petition, subject to the following conditions: 1. That provision be made for dedication and improvement of alleys at the rear of all properties fronting on Charleston. 2. That provision be made for removal of all utilities from the land to be vacated. Commissioner Whipple moved the public hearing on this petition for vacation be held January, 8, 1958 at 7:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner S harp. COMMISSION MEETING Commissioner Whipple moved the first regular meeting in January be held on January January 8, 1958 instead of January 1, 1958. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioner Fountain, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance inspection of Taxis concerning the inspection of taxis and public vehicles, requested additional time ^ before reporting. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioner Bunker, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed Barbershops ordinance on Barbershops, requested additional time before reporting. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioner Whipple, member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed Zoning ordinance concerning the Zoning Amendment on Home Occupations, requested additional time before reporting. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 750 Traffic DEALING WITH THE REGULATION AND CONTROL OF VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC; BY PROVIDING FOR A BASIC SPEED LAW AND PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT OF 35 MILES PER HOUR FOR SAN FRANCISCO AVENUE; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Fountain and Whipple for recommendation. 12-4-57
