For Unit 2 we proposed'connecting with an existing Water Company 4 inch m i n near Railroad Avenue .and Clark Street and extending 4 inch line across ,main_track and along Unit 2. For first development of Unit 3 we did not propose construct any water main. Water Company has , . line in Old Town, not along Clark Street but in-an alley 130 feet northerly thereof. Our proposal contemplated each locater would vitiake"individual, arrangements with Water Company and assume its individual cost for connections. For Unit 4 there is conveniently ' v' available water company main at First Street and Railroad Avenue. ? We thought a r inch connection with this main could be extended across main track and then along the*property• . Subsequently discussing these plans' with General Attorney -McUamee, he advised that in order protect position he had assume with State Utilities Commission with respect to extended service by Water Company to new subdivisions and to avoid establishing a precedent that would prove embarrassing in his further negotiations, we should where possible avoid extending Water Company Is service to industries lying outside Of territory now served. He urged these fhree,tracts be served with ^ailroad water. Following this advice, we changed our plan to provide for - extending an existing 6 inch Railroad main .from its present end we^t of main line *and:short distance south of the creek, to and along westerly side of Unit 2, .making.temporary dead end at south side relocated Clark Street. , Then to furnish waiter Unit 3 we pro­posed take S inch line' off this main at point about midway between-the creek and Clark Street, extend under main line right, of way and.westerly along the track alley. For both these lines wevpro­posed 6 inch pipe beca.use the stub end at Clark Street would be later extended, probably with 4.inch pipe to serve Unit 4 and the 1 • branch extending into Unit 3 might be extended long distance west­erly with.further development that Unit. Locating latter pipe in track alley mdkes it serve Gla k Street frontage as well as .^projected frontage to the South. For present purposes 4 inch line would be ample but we feel future possibilities ?justify initial construction supply line ample for future needs.
