SALVAGE AND SCRAP MATERIAL KaNUAL POR THE UTILITIES ADDJ TfCjKAL INFORMATION Refer page 9 "BRASS, SCRAP - BORINGS AND TURNINGS" and page 17 "COPPER SCRAP - BOEINGS AND TURNINGS" Because of the necessity of salvaging cutting oils the following suggestions are added: Metal borings and turnings may be removed from production machines and tdiere necessary, crushed. They should then be conveyed'to a special hopper for oily chips, from where they may be put in the basket of a centrifugal extractor which removes up to 98# of all residual oils. The cutting oil can then be pumped to a special cone bottom storage tank where the oil is heated to approximately 180°P. It may then be pumped through a centrifugal clarifier, which removes all water and dirt, and then t6 a clean oil storage tank.
