FOUNDER'S DAY COMMITTEE REPORT November 2, 1996
The Founder's Day committee met on October 16, 1996, at 6:00pm. The committee met at the West Las Vegas Library.
Members in attendance: Jacki Brown, Dorothy Earle, Gwendolyn Gates-Bartlett, Jackie Hall, Kaweeda Adams, and Denise Williams.
The committee selected the Golden Nugget as the site for the 1997 Founders's day celebration. Soror Denise Williams will check on the hotel dates available and get the deposit information.
Soror Hall will contact the Regional Director an ascertain the best date for her to travel to Las Vegas. If the Regional Director is not available the following names were submitted as speakers to consider:
Rikki Cheese - Channel 3 news
Yvonne Atkinson- Gate - County Commissioner
Kechia Thomas-English - Minister and Past Thelma Tyree
Award Winner
Hazel O'Leary - U.S. Secretary of Energy
Sub-committee assignments were made and are as follows:
Location - Denise Williams
Decorations/Room Set-up/Dais - Kaweeda Adams
Gifts & Souvenirs - Jacki Brown
Program & Tickets - Rhoda Anderson
Publicity/Newspapers - Kaweeda will write a press release and
Denise will ensure that it gets to radio, newspapers, and Television.
Rededication - Soror Frances Perry
Awards to be given at Luncheon:

Lois Ice Award
Arts & Humanities Award
Recommendations from Committee:
1)
That each active member for 1996 be assessed the cost of one ticket - $25.00
2)
That any money's that are profit from this event be earmarked for the 1998 Founder's Day. Justification: There will be no need for an assessment in 1998.
The next committee meeting will be held at 2:30pm, Imani Hall, just prior to the Regular Sorority meeting.
