A Place to call home July 2, 2001 The Honorable Shelley Berkley United States House of Representatives Washington DC 20515-2801 Dear Representative Berkley: We are very happy that the House recently approved $9 million for two critical highway projects in the City of Henderson. Thank you for obtaining the funding for these two priority projects. With the tremendous growth that is taking place in southwestern Henderson, the importance of these two projects cannot be overstated. As the major gateway to Henderson from the south, the I-15/St. Rose Parkway interchange is woefully inadequate for current traffic volume and is a source of frustration for many residents and visitors. Similarly, the Southern beltway, though less than five years old, needs major upgrades at several key interchanges to improve its capacity. These interchanges are similarly a source of frustration. The funding you obtained will help remedy these situations, improving Henderson's quality of life and ensuring that we can continue to grow in an orderly and well-planned manner. Thank you again for your interest in and hard work on these projects. Henderson is lucky to be able to work with our national legislators on important local projects so successfully.
