W Las - March 5, X9kB Mr* James F. CoxI { ec » Mr. Frank Strong Mr. L, C. Hills) Your letter January 31, file 3158-M-b?, regarding damage to studebaker Sedan, driven by 0. H. Carlaten#en, at Lae Vegas December 1, 19b7* In accordance with last paragraph of your letter, Mr. Tritle, President of the Community Chevrolet Com}:any, addressed an Air Mali letter to Mr. Christensen at Watertown, South Dakota, hut has not received, any response and advised me a day or two ago that he did not expect to as long as the man had received the repairs, He also stated that if he had had any Idea that the Water Company would not stand hack of the bill he would not have permitted the Studebaker to leave his garage until the bill had been paid. He feels that the Water Company is letting hi® "hold the sack*1 for the oost of repairs, which he made In good faith. In all fairness, I feel that we should reimburse hi® for this expense, there was no contributory negligence on the part of the driver of the studebaker, as he was stopped at the traffic light when our truck ran into Msi| and while the accident was unavoidable because of rainy streets, X believe that the responsibility is exclusively ours, and to further defer payment for services rendered over 9© day# ago will only injure our business relations with Chevrolet Company, who have always been very friendly to us. Will appreciate your authority to voucher the bill. A, M. Felger
