Viking Automatic Sprinkler Company 2715 East 12th Street Los Angeles 23, California Att’n: Mr, a . E, Kens July 20, 1948 v 2 3 -3 Gentlemens Referring to your letter 6 July 23 regarding -lneh connection for fire line in Sears Roebuok building: We have had our labor gang excavate the water main in back of Sears Roebuok building to determine location of the existing connections to fire line, which were Installed by the Bamber Company of Long Beach in 1942, I enclose pencil sketch showing the location of two 2$-inoh connections looped together and connected to the 6-lnoh fire line in manhole at rear of Sears R70oebuok building, There is a gauge in the pit Indicating lbs pressure on the line between the check valve and tee. Our normal pressure on the water main is 35 lbs. Apparently a 2#»inch temporary connection was taken off the loop direct to the building where pressure ie applied by means of a booster pump; another 2^-lnch line leads from Inside the building to a point between the check valve and tee, leading thence to the implement building. We are unable to determine at what point you desire the 6-inch connection. Mueller Company have requested ua to return the tapping machine, which we are doing tomorrow. If you will kindly have your represents** tive get in touch with me when he arrives in Las Vegas, ws will be glad to work with him on the location for this new connection, Xou may wish to contact the Bamber Company {Mr. 0. I. Haskins) for a print showing the set-up made by the Bamber Companyf which would be of assistance to both of us. Very truly youre, General Manager
