Los Angeles, August 2?, 1935, Mr. B. M. Prescott: Referring to your letter August 26th, file Y, in regard to Mr* W. R. Fairbourne, associated with Shurtleff Bros., of Overton, inquiring whether or not we have any second-hand lumber or pipe or old bridge timbers available for sale in vicinity of Las Vegas; Under our existing instructions, we are required to forward any released bridge timbers to Pocatello, Idaho, where they are assembled and re—distributed from that point where required for use on three western units. We do not have any second-hand pipe available for sale at this time. We have authority to retire eight of the old type bunkhouses in the shop grounds at has Vegas, and we are now securing proposals from anyone who might desire to acquire these structures, on the basis that they will offer us a flat price for the structure where it is now located in the shop grounds, the structure to be removed at the purchaser *s expense and clean up the premises and leave same in a neat and tidy condition. Possibly Mr. Fairbourne would be interested in this proposition, and if so, suggest he call on our agent, Mr. Davis, at Las Vegas, who can Indicate to him the structures available for sale* R. L.
