C. Dear Senator Hecht: Once again it is my pleasure to be in communication with you. This time I want to thank you most warmly for the letter which Senator Helms and you authored. I cannot for the life of me understand how, quite apart from other issues, we can open the door to the Soviet Union in the Middle East, which has been our policy to keep closed. At any rate, please be assured of our deep appreciation for speaking up for one of our staunchest allies in the world, namely, the State of Israel. Sincerely yours, FS:ph Delegates to National Council: Albert Amin ? Herbert Amster ? Jacob Applebaum ? Stanley Berger ? Eli Berkowitz ? Rabbi Reuven Bernstein ? Stuart Fried-man ? Robert Fuchs ?
