    n las Vegas, Nevada July 23, 1952 (CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING) A special meeting of the Board of Coramissioners of the City of Las Vegas held this 23rd day of July, 1952 was called to order at the hour of 7«30 P.M. by His Honor Mayor Pro Tern Reed Whipple with the following members presents Mayor Pro Tem Reed Whipple Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Rex A* Jarrett Commissioner William Peccole City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Manager G* W. Shelley Assistant City Manager Dora Lord City Engineer C. C. Boyer City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Absent! Mayor C« D. Baker # * * ? * # * * * # * • » • # * # « • * # WATER SHORTAGE At this time a public hearing was held relative to the shortage of water in this community. Mr. W. H. Johnson, representative of the Las Vegas Land and later Company was present to discuss the matter with the Board of Commissioners. Thereafter Coranissioner Bunker moved the City Attorney he instructed to prepare a formal request petitioning the Public Service Commis­sion to proceed immediately to augment the water supply in this area. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following votet Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye} noes, none. Absent! Mayor Baker. *
