H, Hamilton* Chief Clerk to Division Engineer at Los Angeles* that reason estimated current consumed figures were furnished Auditor for month March to August* 1950* is due to the difference in meter readings of the Railroad’s meters and the Power Company’s meters. The Power Company’s readings are lower than the Railroad’s as much as 11,9# for April* 8.7# for July* etc. This is supposed to be due to metering transformer of the Power Company being larger than the Railroads. Division forces discontinued furnishing Auditor estimated figures after the month of August, and apparently the Auditor Is making his own adjustment between the Railroad Company’s meter readings and the Power Company’s meter readings. Am informed by Electrician Cottmlre at Las Vegas that the Power Company had three 500 KVA transformers In the bank supplying electric energy to the Railroad Company. One of these was taken out for repairs. Then the Power Company put in three 33-1/3 KVA transformers and took out the other two 500 KVA transformers for cheek. The three 53-1/3 KVA transformers can carry the load during cooler weather but the three 500 KVA transformers will have to be reinstalled before warm weather sets In. Hamilton also stated that the Power Company propose to have Bureau of Reclamation recalibrate their meters to see If they read correctly. Attached Is another statement which gives the meter readings during year 1950* as furnished by Electrician Waterbury at Las Vegas to Division Engineer at Los Angeles* before read­ings were adjusted to meet the meter readings of the Power Company.
