$25,000,000 — -----Our ----------------------------------$25,000,000 ; The Relations of Promoter and Broker to the Investor. In the making of a mine the promoter is as sensible a factor as the prospector who discovered it and it is due to his watchfulness and enterprise that properties are taken up and the capital provided for development. He occupies thej^position in his relation to the investor of an agent whosp duty it is to search out and pass upon the merits of the property which will by means of this capital develpp into mines. The opportunities are so many and the field so vast that few promoters have the capital necessary for the development of all of the properties coming to them, and not being in touch with the investing public the promoter seeks the aid of the broker and thus Anally through the medium of advertising, correspondence and publicity, money is raised through the sale of promotion stock to carry on the work of develo&nent. In this manner the expense of exploring mining properties and determining their value is reAuced to the minimum to the individual, the possibility of loss of any considerable amount of mone3&being almost entirely obviated, and possibilities of making fortunes are most favorable. The broker under these circumstances stands in his relation to the investor as a protector of his interests. In his position he is continually in receipt of information at Arst hand which may be of the greatest moment, and have an important bearing, upon the value of his client's holdings. He makes it, a part of his business to keep investors informed of all matters pertaining to property in which they are interested. The honest and conservative handling of the thousands of dollars that have already been sent to this district for development purposes is shown in the illustrations on these pagl:s. In her third year GoldAeld shows more than twice the amount of systematic development work shown by any other damp in a much longer period. ?: This is because our men are in the business of j mining and have no desire to divert development funds into private channels. !.
