The above and foregoing Ordinance was first proposed and read by title to the Board of City Commissioners on the 18th day of April , 1949, and referred to the following committee composed of Commissioners Clark and Whipple for recommendation; thereafter the said committee reported favorably on said Ordinance on the 22nd day of April . which was the next regular meeting of said Board of City Commissioners; that at said regular meeting held on the 22nd day of April, 1949, the proposed ordinance was read in full to the Board of City Commissioners as first introduced and adopted by the following vote: Voting "Aye": Commissioners Clark, Moore, Whipple and His Honor Mayor Cragin. ORDINANCE NO. 383 AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE DETERMINATION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, TO MAKE CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, BY INSTALLING A SANITARY SEWER IN THE SAID CITY; PROVIDING THAT THE COST AND EXPENSE THEREOF SHALL BE PAID ENTIRELY BY SPECIAL ASSESSMENT UPON ALL THE LOTS INCLUDED WITHIN THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT HEREBY ESTABLISHED ACCORDING TO THE BENEFITS; AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: Section 1. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas hereby declares its determination to the following improvements in the City of Las Vegas* in accordance with the plats* diagrams and estimates of cost on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Las Vegas. To install a sanitary sewer on 16th Street from Marlin Avenue to Bonanza Road; on Bruce Street from Marlin Avenue to Bonanza Road; on Bonanza Road from 16th Street to Bruce Street; in alley between Linden Avenue and Walnut Avenue from Bruce Street to 19th Street; on 19th Street from alley between Linden and Walnut Avenue to alley between Walnut Avenue and Mesquite Avenue; in alley between Walnut Avenue and Mesquite Avenue from 19th Street to 21st Street. The above described assessment district shall be designated and known as sanitary sewer assessment district #200-0. Section 2. The cost and expense of making the improvements described in Section 1 of this ordinance shall be paid by special assessment to be made according to the benefits against the owners and upon the taxable lots and premises embraced within the special assessment district hereby created* and composed of all the taxable lots and premises included within said district that shall received benefits from said sanitary sewer assessment district #200-0, as shown on Exhibit A, a map thereof on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada. Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Las Vegas shall keep the plats, diagrams, and the estimates of cost on file in here office for public inspection, and the City Clerk of the City of Las Vegas shall give notice thereof and of the proposed improvements, of the location thereof, and of the district to be assessed, by publication for two weeks, that is to say, once a week for two successive weeks, in the Las Vegas Review Journal, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas, by posting notices of the same in at least three public places in each ward, and also by posting a notice in or near the postoffice of the City of Las Vegas, and by posting notices in three public places neat the site of the proposed improvements. The notices shall also state the time when the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas will meet and consider any suggestions and objections that may be made by parties in interest to the proposed improvements. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its publication, as in the next section provided, and final passage.
