Los Angeles, October 14, 1952 30-12 Mr. Calvin M. Cory: Herewith copy of letter from Mr. Rouse, dated October 13, 1952, with respect to the qualification of Union Land Company in the states of Nevada and California in connection with possible transfer from LVL&W Company of its property other than water department properties. This transfer would be made in connection with the transfer of the water production facilities of the Railroad to the LVL&WCompany at Lae Vegas, which is the subject of Mr. Reinhardt’s letter to Mr* Stoddard of September 30, 1952. Since Mr. Rouse’s letter was written, Mr. John A. Bennewits has called me by telephone to ask whether it would not be satisfactory to transfer the nonwater department properties of Sthe LVL&W Company to the LA&SL• I have told him that I can see no reason why this should not be done in California and Nevada. However I suggest that you respond to the enclosed letter promptly so that Mr* Rouse will have the information concerning the qualification of the Union Land Company in Nevada if it is decided that such action will be taken.
