I agree.% Kirk Braun, Chairman Box 1633 Portland, Oregon ^ iJ V'^ A ISS NATIONAL PRESS PHOTOGRAPHER PAGEANT KANSAS CENTENNIAL GLOBAL EXPOSITION ?╟÷ WICHITA, KANSAS?╟÷JUNE 11 ?╟≤r May 1 Q 1961 Mr. Al Freeman The Sands Hotel Las Vegas-j Nevada Dear Al, Plans are about complete for the big show in Wichita June 22. We've lined up the transportation for Miss NPPA to Las Vegas by TWA and Ifll be coming along to shoot a picture sfcfcry of her trip. We will plan to leave Wichita sometime Saturday, June 2k arriving in Las Vegas the evening of the 2*fth. I will probably stay until Monday and I assume that she will return to her home Tuesday. There has been a development that I think you ought to know about and might find interesting * Apparently the California Press Photographers association made a deal with the Sahara to hold their convention there next month. In'-exchange for whatever they got. they are sending Joan Adams, who works in the Sahara publicity office, to Wichita as Miss California Press Photographer. These California boys have a habit of promising the moon and Ifm curious as to what kind of deal they made. Also I'd like to know a little more about the gal. According to her entry form, she will be chaperoned by Richard Kaneilis, Director of Publicity at the Sahara. I donft particularly want to get involved in any hassles between Las Vegas hotels, and we do have a loyalty to you for all your help in the past, so any information you can give me about how this looks to you would be appreciated.?╟≤.and kept confidential. This thing does have a cute twist that might get both the Sands and Sahara a little space, in that a gal from the Sahara is competing in a contest in which one of the major prizes is a vacation at a competing hotel skfeilf mile awayl Let me know whqt you think... egards. .un Affiliated with the International Beauty Congress (a WA^"
