& ARTHUR M. WIRTZ Producer ^ARTHUR M. WIRTZ, a tireless titan, standing six-foot-four inches, is producer and co-owner of the Hollywood Ice Revue. In 1935, he and his associates acquired the Chicago Stadium and since then have developed what started as a hobby into a gigantic business enterprise. Soon after acquiring the Stadium, he produced the first Hollywood Ice Revue at a very modest expenditure but it quickly captured the public's imagination and was to develop into one of the greatest successes in show business. The following year the show starred Sonja Henie, and she continued as its star for fifteen successive years. WILLIAM H. BURKE Assistant Producer DONN ARDEN Choreography and Staging VV'LLIAM H. BURKE, assistant producer, has played an important part in every Wirtz production. A native Chicagoan, Burke is a well known figure wherever crowds assemble to view the finest in sports or entertainment. Once the show opens and goes on the road, "Ludy" Kassebaum takes over as Manager. He also auditions and engages new skating talent which is a year' round task. "Ludy" is never too busy to be father confessor and advisor to the "kids" in the cast. Donn Arden, choreographer, has distinguished himself with many awards for his work both in this country and in Europe. Arden won the Grand Prix de Paree for his productions in Paris and Rome. He staged the famous productions in Paris' Cabaret Lido and has many successes in New York, Hollywood and Las Vegas. In addition, he is a leading name in television circles and has staged and choreographed many top TV productions. Arden is producer, director, and choreographer of Moulin Rouge, Hollywood's famous showplace and immediately after this year's production of the Hollywood Ice Revue he will again go to Paris to handle the entire production of the famous Paris Bal Tabaran. The costumes and stage settings are in the hands of the very capable Raoul Pene du Bois of New York. He designed decore' for such movies as Louisana Purchase, Frenchman's Creek, Lady in the Dark, and Dixie. He created costumes and settings for Billie Rose's Diamond Horseshoe and Casa Manana, as well as Leonard Stillman's New Faces. Some of his top Broadway productions are Panama Hattie, Carmen Jones, Call Me Madam, Lend an Ear, Wonderful Town, Make a Wish, Mrs. Patterson and Plain and Fancy. Immediately following the opening of the Hollywood Ice Revue he will begin work on "The Vamp" and "Ziegfield Follies." Emil Baffa, Music Director, now in his sixth year with the Wirtz Production, formerly conducted opera over the Columbia Broadcasting System.
