After collection lay the LVL&W Go. of certain of the water "bills of the Land and Development Company, the net actual cost to the LVL&W Co. was charged to the investment account as follows: Unimproved Real Estate - Nevada Water System - Las Vegas, Nevada Cast Iron Mains Wooden Mains $2,^89.98 62.53 $2,489.98 2,552.51 The foregoing amounts to $5,042.49 and represents the difference between the amount owed LVL&W Co. by the Land and De­velopment Company and the amount collected of the unpaid water bills owed to the latter which were collected by the former. 4. Straight donations were made to the LVL&W Co. as follows: Work Order Description Donated Bv Investment 152 760 Ft. 4 inch redwood pipe line in and adjacent to Parkview Addition. Parkview Mutual Water Company $ 650.00 495 2950 Ft. 4 inch cast iron pipe line in Grandview Addition. Grandview Water Company 3,440.00 515 14,450 Ft. 4 inch cast iron pipe lines in Boulder and Park Place Additions. Boulder Dam Syndicate, Inc. 17,350.00 For consideration with Item 4> LVL&W Co. also took over operation of the Marlin Water Company lines in September 1941, con­sisting of some 3,400 feet of 4 inch cast iron mains, and the water mains of the 14th Street Water Company in July 1942, consisting of about 5,000 feet of 4 inch east iron mainsj however, we have never acquired title to either of these pipe lines and consequently, the cost thereof is not included in our investment account, but we are receiving revenues from their use and assume the cost of maintenance and repairs. As information, Item 4 "was discussed with Mr. Hulsizer who authorized me to say that he will advise you later whether any of the foregoing four items have been included in statements fur­nished you by him as representing ®original cost® and "present value of reproduction new® of the LVL&W facilities, and that if these items have not been so included, you will be furnished with new statements appropriately revised. |iy' irr' L* C, C.
