A second copy of the application will be fax to all the high school of Monday, March 5, 2001 (Some counselor have requested more copies).The committee will meet on Saturday, April 14, and Wednesday, April 25, 2001 to review and select recipients of the scholarships. The scholarship reception is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 19,2001. Final date and place will be announced at the April meeting.The Next Scholarship meeting will be on March 28, at 5:30 p.m. at the North Area Service Center. (Billie’s Office)

The Scholarship Committee met on April 25th and April 28th to evaluate the applications. The
members evaluating were as follows:
Jacqueline Harris-Brown, Sharon Savage, Lisa McNeil, Jacqueline R. Hall, Amanda McWilliams
Soror Jacqueline Harris Brown became ill and was unable to complete the scoring process. Her
scores were not counted in the final tally.
Seventeen applications were received. Two were disqualified. 1) No transcript was received to
verify GPA. 2) GPA was below 2.5
15 applications were evaluated.
The Scholarship recipients are as follows:

The total scholarships awarded is in the amount of $4000.00.
Theta Theta Omega - $3500.00
Kappa Xi - $ 500.00 (reimbursement from last year)
The scholarship reception will be held on June 3,2001, West Las Vegas Library. The date is
changed because of scheduling conflicts with other organizations. The reception will once again
be a joint venture with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
The committee will be working on the following items as it pertains to the application:
1) the format will be changed and made clearer
2) TO determine need a parent must include a W-2 or a tax return. This will be clearly noted on
the scholarship cover sheet and a check off box will be included.
