Mason will have an exhibit of outstanding war machines at the War Memorial Building Saturday, to which all citizens will be welcome, especially Rotarians. * * * * * * * * * * * * * LAST WEEK Owing to the activities of Helldo-rado week and the responsibility of preparing a winning entry in the Bath-ing Beauty parade, the formal program was dispensed with last week, only the routine business being taken care of. KOLM AM RHEIN Secretary Allye has received a letter from Rotary Club Kolm Am Rhein, as follows: "Dear yellow Rotarian: In behalf of all Rotarians from Cologne (Germany) I wish to thank you. for your congratulations on the occasion of the chartering celebration of our Club as well as the sending of your Wheel of Ro-tary. With best wishes for the future of your Club, Yours in Rotary" (Secretary) HAY 18, 1950 ROTARY PRIZE WINNER "Only A Rose" was the song title of our entry in the Sunday afternoon parade.... It was a beautiful produc-tion, showing a gigantic red rose, ;in the heart of which was seated, on ! a throne, Katherine, daughter of Tex ! and Rotary Ann Bladoaan. Tex himself took over the re-sponsibility of superintending the work of building the float, but a group of others put in some earnest effort assisting. The Rotary Club extends thanks to Tex and Katherine, as well as to all who gave their time and talent toward preparing the float. Particularly entitled to thanks for their services are Karl Pruter, Dick and Leo Elkins and Jack Young. They worked hard with wonderful re-sults. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * KEN BACK Ken Tinsley is back from Pasa-dena where he was out of circulation for a month with a sprained back. Welcome back, Ken. We have missed you. Allye devised the idea of sending copies of the Wheal and writing letters to foreign Rotary Clubs, which has brought fine returns in Rotary.
