LANE NOTARY PUBLIC IN AND FOR CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA My Commission Expires July 30, 1958 ORDINANCE NO. 728 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 7, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, BY PROHIBITING THE PLACING OF WRITTEN ADVERTISEMENTS UPON STRUCTURES WITHIN THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES. THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 1, Chapter 7, the Code of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, 1949 is hereby amended to read as follows: It shall be unlawful far any person to paste, print or in any manner whatsoever place or attach to any building, fence, gate, bridge, rock, tree, board, sidewalk, curb, telephone pole, electric light pole or other utility pole, or any other type of structure whatsoever within the right-of way of any highway, street or alley, any written, printed, painted or other outdoor advertisement, bill, notice, sign, picture, card or poster. Nothing herein shall be construed as to prevent the posting or maintaining of any notices required by law to be posted or maintained, or the placing or maintain­ing of street or highway signs, or signs used to advertise the business conducted on the property where such sign is erected; provided that the structural details are approved by the Department of Building and Safety. SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a mis­demeanor, and on conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500.00, and/or six (6) months in jail, or by a combi ration of both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 4. The City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its first reading and adoption in a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas.
