Pipe line at Las Vegas Los Angeles, Calif., Deoember 17th, 1919. FILE 6 13 MR. C. F. MILLERt 1 am eno losing cjjpy o f a letter which we have / received from Mr. waiter R. Bracken concerning pipe line at Lag Vegas, which is self Explanatory. I have also received a copg^ a letter from Mr. dark to Mr. Comstock on the Earns subject. X can think of no reason for this pipe breaking from an internal pressure as reported. It occurs to me that possibly the break was caused by the extreme jcold. while the mter flowing through this pipe is quite warm the thickness of the pip® may be su fficient to take up the warmth of the water and not prevent frost penetrating from the outside. I believe your suggestion that the pipe be covered with three or four feet of dirt will prevent further breakage of this kind. You is truly, M j% Enel. Engineer S o f t
