    52. 8.5 "Used" Water - Insofar as it is available to agricultural lands, adequately treated domestic sewage may be used, for irrigation. The domestic sewage from the Henderson area is available to Paradise Valley and the domestic sewage from the Las Vegas urban area is available to the area east of Las Vegas. Treated sewage may, there­fore, be considered a source of water for Irrigation. Based on population and water consumption in these areas, the quantity of treated sewage which can be made available for irrigation is as follows: Estimated Sewaee Flow Year MOD Acre-Feet Per Year 1950 8.4 9,400 1970 12.4 13,900 2000 17.5 19,600 Figure 15 shows the total water available to Las Vegas Valley and the total amount available from present facilities on an annual basis. 8.4 Water Quality - The underground water is not very highly mineralized and is only moderately hard. A recent analysis of the mixed water of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company showed that the total dissolved solids were 267 ppm and that the total hardness was 239 ppm, expressed as calcium carbonate.
