1& V. RESULTS OP OPERATION A summary of annual operating revenues and expenses, exclusive of income taxes, for the years 1938 to 1949, inclusive, is shown as Table I, page 17. The figures in this table are from the annual reports to the Public Service Commission of Nevada, and have been compiled under the prevailing procedure. 1. Revenues Over the period covered by Table I operating revenues have been reported in two major classifications, (1 ) sales of water and (2 ) miscellaneous operating revenues. Sales have been divided into the following accounts: Acct. 602 - Plat rate sales to general customers. Acct. 604 - Other water utilities. Acct. 606 - Miscellaneous municipal sales. The last year to show charges to Acct. 604 - Other Water Utilities, was 1947, and since that period no such sales have been made. Beginning with 1948, total operating revenues have been segregated between flat rate sales, miscellaneous municipal sales, and miscellaneous operating revenues, although Account 604 is still in the accounting classification for further use if the occasion arises. Typical of the division between classes of customers as to number and sales of water are the following figures for the year 1949: Customers Number % of Total Revenues Amount of Total Residential 7,047 89.95 Commercial 749 9.56 Industrial 20 .26 Municipal 18 ____ .25 $152,193.50 76.43 40,921.95 20.55 3,135.30 1.57 2,882.16 1.45 Total 7,834 100.00 $199,132.91 100.00
