MILLY Allright, cane on now boys, line up. I want to see those nice clean fingernails (The BROTHERS quickly work on their nails. MILLY moves dcwn the line, examining their outstretched hands:) Ohhhh. Prettiest fingernails I ever saw------ (MILLY pauses at GIDEON, lifts up his hand and examines it) Gideon, what happened to that thumb? GIDEON (Abashed) I soaked it in lye, an' dam near lost it. MILLY I'm right proud of... all of you. (ADAM enters stage left) ADAM Well new look at you boys. BROTHERS Ad lib at the way Adam looks as well. You too Adam!
