The AKA Connection: Our Inherent Power
RATIONALE
The AKA Connection is every soror linked together and connected to one another — each soror possessing expertise in a variety of fields and making maximal usage of all resources and capabilities. With a membership well over 75 000, Alpha Kappa Alpha has the inherent power through the sheer strength of numbers and collective membership expertise. Through the AKA Connection, a mechanism and forum are provided to activate this collective empowerment (membership strength), thereby, increasing and maximizing our ability to influence decisions and effectuate power.
PURPOSE
Regardless of the level of involvement, the AKA Connection maintains four basic elements within its stated purpose: ,
—To identify and study local, state, national and international issues which impact upon the quality ot lite for all mankind
_To design strategies for communications with the membership regarding issues
_To mobilize the membership for action and implementation
_To recommend position statements to the membership and/or chapter
