ORDINANCE NUMBER 277 EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE No. 244 BY ADDING SECTION 7A and 7B TO SAID ORDINANCE N&. 244 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS LICENSING, FOR PURPOSES OR REGULATION AND REVENUE EVERY KIND OF LAWFUL BUSINESS, HEREINAFTER SPECIFIED, TRANSACTED OR CARRIED ON WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, STATE OF NEVADA: FIXING THE RATES OF LICENSE TAX UPON THE SAME AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF SAID LICENSE TAX, AMD A PUNISHMENT FOR CARRYING ON OR CONDUCTING ANY SUCH BUSINESS WITHOUT A LICENSE, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERED 1, 2, 4, 13, 14, 35, 48, 62, 74, 75, 81, 95, ;02, 105, 108, 112, 117, 145, 184, 192 and 243. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: There is hereby added to Section 7 of Ordinance No 244, Sections 7A and 7B which shall read as follows: Section 7A: Any and all persons, firms or corporations, excepting taxi cabs, operating a motor transportation service for the carriage of passengers exclusively in the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, shall pay to the City of Las Vegas a quarterly license fee of $50.00 Dollars for each buss not over 30 persons, occupancy for each bus. Before such license shall be issued the applicant must file an application designating the routes. Section 7B. Owing to the emergency existing due to the rationing of tires and other materials required for war purposes only one such license shall be granted. This ordinance is declared to be and is hereby passed as an Emergency Ordinance and it shall take effect immediately after its passage and publication. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to have this Ordinance published in the Las Vegas Evening Review-Journal a newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas, County of Clark, State of Nevada, for a period of two weeks, that is to say once each week for a period of two weeks. The foregoing Ordinance was read aloud for the first time and voted upon at a recessed regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners on the 7th day of July, 1942. Vote for: Commissioners Clark, Rubidoux, Smith, Tinch and his Honor the Mayor, Howell C. Garrison, and was read aloud for the second time and passed by the unanimous consent of the Board as an emergency ordinance on the 7th day of July, 1942. Voting for: Commissioners: Clark, Rubidoux, Smith, Tinch, and His Honor the Mayor, Howell C. Garrison. Voting aye: Voting nos. None Absent: None. Howell C.
