Los Angeles, June 23, I960 1-7354 Mr. J. P. Mask - Loe Angeles (2) {ec - Mr. A. M. Folger - Lae Vegas) deferring to our water supply being oontasilnated recently at the source account rodents getting into the spring houses: Pt . Folger has reported that Public Health Author ities have indicated we should continuously chlorinate all our water supply, hut with the added precautions we hare taken to keep out foreign matter it is not felt that oontln uous chlorination i* necessary. However, Mr. Folger has been inetructed to take frequent sample's of water fros the distribution system, which samples are to be analysed by State Health department so that corrective measures may be taken to eliminate any unsatisfactory condition that may develop. He will also arrange to take weekly samples . from each of the three settling basins and have these analysed by State Health Department. In order for him to be able to do this, please have Water Service Foreman John Snorf install spigots in the pipe lines where they leave the settling basins. At the settling basin first constructed we have two discharge lines. Only one JFtgot le necessary from which to secure water samples at tnat point and the spigot can be inetailed in either line.
