Van Nuys, Calif. Valley News & Green Sheet (Circ D 48,096-212,615 free) ?╟≤OCT 3 }Qp JIL Est. 1888 mr.las vegas says; Howard Hughes has coined; a new word at the Desert Inn If "Pzazz." After previewing| the new musical extravaganza!; at the 'D.I.-, "Pzazz" couldji only mean exciting, colorful fantastic, glamorous andjj beautiful. I can't remember when I had been so impressed with a musical production as I was last Thursday night viewing Pzazz! 68" which was produced ""by"'1LPrank Sennes and staged, created and directed by Donn Arden. This team of Frank and Donn has brought many beautiful and outstanding productions to the Desert Inn and the Stardust but in "Pzazz" they have fa ceeded anything they had created in the past. The main theme of this ele gant revue is centered around Hollywood with such scenes as * 'Hollywood High Camp," "The Groovy Movie," "Dancing in the Dark," "Born a Star," several "Road Movies" as a tribute to Bing, Bob and Dorothy and the Grand Finale, "Salute to Beau Geste." Interspersed amidst these and many other fast paced and colorful scenes are the acrobatic Agostinos, beautiful songstress Bambi McCormick, aerialist Gala Shawn, juggling Rudy Cardenas, comedy chatter by Jeremy Vernon and the clever Snyder Brothers. Bob Snyder of the latter team is particularly impressive with singing impressions of Eddie Fisher, Tony Bennett Dean Martin and Perry Como. His own voice matches any of tliis group. Particularly magnificent is the solo dancing of Shirley Kirkes, the beautiful showgirls and all of the dancers. "Pzass '68" seems to have a continuity very rarely witnessed in a musical revue. And, that's "Pzazz! '68" ?╟≤?╟÷ exciting, colorful, fantastic, glamorous, beautiful ?╟÷ and ?╟÷ nary a nude. ' .,\ San Jose, California Mercury-News (Cir. S. 174,307) ?╜CT8 jttW* 'Pzazz. '6?║? There is a boom town scene with a burning oil well and leather jacketed "Hippies" who ride motorcycles and wield whips in a frenzied dance." The Polynesian set is haunt- tngly lovely, complete with waterfall and vibrantly tinted live birds. Final spectacle is a salute f?? the Bern Geste film epics.
