Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ASSESSMENT DISTRICT This being the time heretofore set for the opening of bids for the installation of #100-17 improvements in Assessment District No. 100-17, bids were received from the following Opening of Bids concerns. Installation of Improvement Dodge Construction Co. $283,444.65 Wells Cargo Inc. 263,853.85 Gibbons & Reed 302.750.25 J . M. Murphy Const. Co. 252,772.50 Silver State Construction 267,102.24 Young & Smith Construction 263,497.99 Commissioner Bunker moved the foregoing bids on Assessment District No. 100-17 be referred to the City Manager, City Engineer and City Attorney for checking and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, hone. SERVICE & MATERIAL Commissioner Whipple moved that Service and Material Warrant No. 2282 in the total amount WARRANT of $863.20 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. The meeting recessed at the hour of 8:00 P.M. At 8:55 P.M. the meeting reconvened with a ll members present as of the opening session with the exception of the City Engineer. ASSESSMENT DISTRICT Commissioner Peccole moved the bid on Assessment District No. 100-16 be awarded to Young #100-16 and Smith Construction Company in the total amount of $312,404.12 subject to their filin g Award of Bid the performance bond and subject to the sale of the bonds on this District, and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign the contract. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ASSESSMENT DISTRICT Commissioner Bunker moved the bid on Assessment District No. 100-17 be awarded to J . M. #100-17 Murphy Construction Company in the total amount of $252,772.50 s ubject to their furnishing Award of Bid the performance bond and subject to the sale of the bonds on this District, and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign the contract. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. HUSBAND & WIFE Commissioner Whipple moved the resolution of February 14, 1950 concerning the employment EMPLOYMENT of husband and wife by the City be rescinded because of changes in the employment market since this resolution was adopted, so long as they are not hired in the same department of the City. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker passed his vote. ADVANCE PAYMENT . Commissioner Peccole moved the request of J . M. Murphy Construction Company for advance ASESMENT DISTRICT payment in the total amount of $5,600 on Assessment District No. 100-6 be approved and NO. 100-6 the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign the warrant when prepared. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. EXAMINATION ELIGIBILITY Commissioner Bunker moved the employment requirement for the Fireman Engineer examination DIST — Fire Department be reduced to 1 1/2 years or more. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. COUNTY FINE PROTECTION Commissioner Bunker moved the cut-off date on the furnishing of Fire Protection service to the County be extended to January 1, 1953 and the City Attorney instructed to prepare an agreement setting forth the terms. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commissioner Jarrett moved the meeting recess until June 13, 1952 at the hour of 4:30 P.M. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
