    EXTRACT FROM MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF FINANCE • COMMITTEE LOS ANGELES & SALT LAKE RAILROAD / COMPANY, NOVEMBER 25, 1924. ^ FILING OF APPLICATION FOR PERMISSION TO APPROPRIATE ________________WATER AT LAS VEGAS, NEVADA._____________ The Chairman stated that recently the Company had d rille d an artesian w ell at Las Vegas, Nevada, which had developed more water than the Company needed in Its present operations; that under the laws o f Nevada, in order to protect water thus developed, It was necessary to f i l e applications with the State o ffic ia ls for permission to appropriate the water; that the General Manager, under these circumstances, had Instructed Leo A* McNamee, Assistant General Attorney of the Company fo r Nevada, to f i l e applications in the name of the Company covering 2*5 second-feet o f the waters from s aid w e ll for ra ilro ad purposes and in the name of Las Vegas Land and Water Company covering the remainder, and that i t was deemed desirable that the action in so f a r as it relates to this Company should be ra t ifie d . Whereupon on motion duly made and seoonded it was unanimously: RESOLVED, that the action o f Leo A. MoNamee, Assistant General Attorney of the Company fo r Nevada, in f i li n g an appli­cation on behalf o f this Company, and in it s name, with the State Engineer of the State of Nevada, for permit to appropriate and divert by means of a d rille d artesian w e ll, 2.5 second-feet o f the public waters of the State of Nevada, from Las Vegas Valley Artesian Basin or subterranean channel, at a point in the SWj of the SWi of Sec. 29, T. 20 S ., R. 61 E ., M.D.B.& M., which bears N. 8 deg. 40* E. 2754.9 f t . from the West Quarter Corner of
