M H R m m Solution May Be Near On LV Water Problem HENDERSON, Oct 29— T h e Las Vegas water district took a new lease on life when the Colorado River commission Saturday morning voted to advance $5,000 so that a new survey might be made of the Henderson water facilities under the plan submitted by Paul O’Neil, engineer. O’Neil told the CRC that he believed that it would be possible to pump 50 million gallons per day through the existing facilities as far as the Manganese ore plant. He proposed that a reservoir be built near the Vegas wash road plant and a pipeline laid running from there to Las Vegas. He explained that an exchange of water could be worked out to meet any emergencies. Plant lessees, sitting in at the meeting, voiced no objection to the proposed survey stating merely that they wished to see the water put on an annual basis instead of the 10 million gallons per day basis. Reason given for this request was that over a period of a year, it might not be necessary for the water district to use the full ten million gallons. Tom Campbell of t h e water district, stated that he believed that such a move would be beneficial to all and would contact the district’s attorneys at once for an opinion. John V.
