MEMO: R.L.A. L. R. Maag phoned in last night and asked me to report to you that James M. Montgomery was in Las Vegas October 28th and attended a meeting at which the following were present: Commissioner - Allen Mayor - Baker City Manager - Shelly DirDeicstto.r of - Miller and 2 reporters. Montgomery had discussion with Maag before the meet- ing who gave Mr. Montgomery the results of the tests Barber- Bridge had made so Montgomery could tell them at the meeting what was going on. Montgomery is returning to Los Angeles today Maag says that Montgomery says he told those present at the meeting that so far as water supply for the coming summer is concerned we did not need any more reservoirs and our pump­ing facilities were adequate. About all we need is more water. Maag says they have completed work on 3 wells (Nos. 2, 8 and lojand are working on #3. Barber-Bridge man went to Los Angeles for parts and was due back yesterday but didn*t get back. If he doesn*t get back today they will more over to #10. Maag says he sent you one report about 8 pages long which you should have received yesterday, and will follow with another report. October 29, 1952 733^ Maag says Commissioner Allen told Mr. Montgomery that he expected a report from us in about 2 weeks on what can be done to increase the water supply. I told Maag our file indic­ates a report is due the commission on Nov. 8th and told him to get his data in so Renwick can get the report to the commission by that date. Our file indicates Barber-Bridge was to make production test on wells 2, 1+, 8, 9 and 10. Maag says they are not follow­ing this plan and are working on Nos. 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 and if they have time will work on additional wells. He says tests so far indicate possible increase in production of 3,000,000 GPD and additional tests should show possible total increase of 5,000,000 GPD. § # - L 9 C • G • ft
