JEWISH WAR VETERANS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA C H A R T E R E D BY A N A C T OF C O N G R E S S 1811 R STREET. N W , WASHINGTON DC 20009 (202) 265-6280 HARVEY S . FRIEDMAN NATIONAL COMMANDER ii l 0586068R May 20, 1986 Dear Senator, I write today to commend you for rejecting the Administration's proposed package of arms to be sold to Saudi Arabia. Your vote sent a resounding statement to the global community that said America's lawmakers will not support, in any manner, shape, or form, a regime which openly gives succor, and money, to terrorists and which, recently, condemned our country's military strikes against Libya. It is crucial that, after the Administration's veto, you reiterate your vote against the sale. The message you send will continue to be a powerful one. The Saudis may be forced to reconsider their affiliations with, and support of, terrorists and will need to channel their efforts towards support of the Middle East peace process, thereby earning the title of "friend." Sincerely, Cff a^fZjL*- Harvey ST Friedman National Commander HSFreo A M E R I C A ' S OLDEST, A C T I V E V E T E R A N S O R G A N I Z A T I ON F O U N D E D 1 8 9 6
