TV's top terping duo, Bud and Cece Robinson, return again to the Nichols Revues with their fascinating routine of dance specialties. This exuberant young couple ?╟÷ who have danced in allfthe top show-spots around the coun- try ?╟÷ grew up in Phoebus, Virginia, near Fort Monroe, where Bud's father was a career soldier. Childhood sweethearts, they practiced together by competing in local dance contests. In time they became good enough to do a jitterbug act with the JirHWiy Dorsey group. Before htey decided to come to New York, and become professional dancers, they struggled like any other young married couple, with Cece taking a job as a secretary while Bud took dancing lessons. Then, since they couldn't afford lessons for two, Bud would teach her what he had learned. After only two years of studying they felt they were ready to start dancing professionally. They were an immediate smash and, since then, have sung and danced their way across the coun- try, pleasing audiences with their musical comedy that includes soft shoe, Charleston, eccentric and Rock and Roll impressions and their individually specialised routines that have established this attractive young couple as one of the top dance teams in the country. Among the more outstanding places they have played are the Cocoanut Grove in Hollywood, the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas, the Fountainebleau in Miami and every top theatre and nightclub throughout the nation. Bud and Cece have also been particularly successful in television. Their charming personalities and beautiful dance routines have been enjoyed in living-rooms all over the country via the Colgate Comedy Hour, the Kate Smith Show, Stop the Music, the Steyie Allen Show, and many others. Few dance acts have been so well received on TV as this talented dancing duo. Within the past seasons Bud and Cece have become extremely popular in the field of indus- trial shows, due to their versatility in all phases of show business, dancing, singing, comedy and acting. J . DAVID ICHOLS, Jr. J. David Nichols, Jr. is a young man with the knack and know-how of choosing entertainers that strike Texans' fancies, and Mr. Nichols is not one to let the knack and know-how go to waste. Nichols International Corporation maintains offices in Houston and Dallas. The Dallas office is managed by Mrs. Iva D. Nichols, President of Nichols International Corporation, who has had over 20 years experience in theatrical adventures. Nichols International Corporation has paid the prices of such great stars as JUDY GARLAND, BOB HOPE, VICTOR BORGER, FRED WARING, LOUIS PRIMA-KEELY SMITH, and GEORGE GOBEL for Texas performances. Those and many others like the way the Nichols' office sets up the Texas tours and various fans now depend on the Nichols' to keep up the stream of good performances. Mr. Nichols' advice on how to buy a star is "First call his manager, make an offer, then make a better offer, then make a better offer." In the case of Louis Prima/the Nichols' office worked on booking him for over a year. One agent lost a $100 bet that Nichols could not get Prima. The Nichols Revues have had amazing growth in thejast few years. During 1961 over 60 perform- ances will be given to Texas audiences. Whenever necessary Mr. Nichols serves as Master of Ceremonies of the Revues. This gives each entertainer an opportunity to perform on his own merits without trying to compete with the Master of Ceremonies.
