t > Las Vegas - May 6, 195^ W 18-6-2 Mr. L. V. Peart - Omaha Mr. George Wade, Director of Public Works fo r the City of Las Vegas, has been requested by the City Board of Commissioners to furnish a report on the operation of the Lae Vegas Land and Water Company, and has requested me to furnish him with a copy of th® 1953 Annual Report of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company. X am not sure ju st exactly what th© City has In mind in having Mr. Wade submit a report on our operations and have been unable to ascertain ju st what they do have in mind, although I have heard rumors from time to time that there is a p o s s ib ility that the City may enter into some sort of agreement with the Water D istrict a fte r the sale takes place, whereby they would purchase water from the D istric t at wholesale prices and then operate that portion of the D is tric t's water system which might l i e within the City Limits. While 1 personally do not think there is any substantial basis fo r such a rumor, s t i l l , since Mr. Wade has requested that we furnish him a copy of the 1953 Annual Report I would lik e you to advise me whether i t w ill be permissible to furnish i t to him in the event you have an extra copy available fo r that purpose. Please advise. LRM:ejp L. R. Maag
