I agree.April 29, 1969 Mr* John I#* Kouahouris , Vic# President Hughes Sports Network 530 Fifth Avenue New York, N?╜ Y, 10036 Dear Mr. Koushourlst Thank you for your correspondence related to the possibility of Hughes Sports Network attaining the broadcast rights to the Sportsmen * s World Awards presentation telecast on June 28th# You are aware of course that Hughes Sports Network was offered the first refusal and I discovered, following a conversation with Richard Bailey, Sr* on January 6th of this year, that your organization was not interested in covering the above mentioned event?╟≤ Shortly thereafter?? the television broad- cast rights were given to Metromedia Producers Corporation* So, in answer to your query, the rights are not now available to Hughes Sports Network* X deeply appreciate your interest even at this late date, and perhaps next year we might reopen this probability and work out a deal.
