Lac Vegas, Mev* May «, 1931 8 E3—8 Subject! * leer Water Schedule * Mr* f * B« He Jfsaee, Seagal Attorney for Sevada, Sot Angeles, Calif * My dear Me s f |uet had a talk with lee la reference to ear water schedule which will fee presented oa the 8th of May, and neither Connolly or tayeeXf concur with hie Idea of haring a public hearing called here in las Vegas* I think It would fee one of the moat damaging moves we could make* fe are treating the public and all patrons in the fairest manner po esifele fey giving the press a letter and copy of new schedule for publication; feat if public hearing were called here in las Vegas, it weald, la my opinion, stir up much more agitation than having the hearing, (it such is necessary) held in Carson City* Another thing is that the general records, of the las Vegas land and Water Company are kept in the Auditor*e office at low Angeles, and it weald mean a lot of trouble end expense to have them brought here and exposed to the soretiny of many busy-bodies, part of whom would not even fee paying water rest* | have expressed this idea to Leo and am sending him copy of this letter, as I want to fee wry plainly understood in the matter# Hoping and knowing that you can carry thie thing through to a successful ending without a public hearing, ae I have talked with both Editors of our papers, and we will get favorable comment from them, and I do not anticipate that there will fee any marked objections after m have- published a letter and cur new schedule of rates# Tours very truly, CC - P.H*Knick«srfeoeker, lee A* leMnmee, "',,MdtiHranr. motif.
