I agree.SOLDER (cont) (2) - 44 - Composition per cent — 76«75 lead, 30 tin, 1*25 silver 1,5 bismuth, 0,5 antimony is also a good all-around solder for commercial work if a rating is available under viiich to purchase. Slightly less heat is required than for (l) (above) and the strength and flowability are superior to it. (3) Wiping Solder. Various high bismuth alloys have been found satisfactory for this purpose, but cannot be recommended because of vital Government need of the bismuth and the obvious high cost of ingredients. The Research Department of American Smelting & Refining Company has developed an alloy- composition per cent — 30 tin, 2 antimony, 1.35 silver and v the balance lead which will produce satisfactory wiped joints with the usual technique. This has been tried by several cable and utility companies and can be recommended.
