c* Los Angeles - September 11th, Mr. Prank Strong: (OC - Mr. B.H. Prater, Mr* W«R* Bracken) Referring to our report of July 25th regarding the water distribution system of the Las Vegas Land & Water Co* at Las Vegas, Nevada* In this report we recommended certain additions to the water distributing lines to eliminate the complaints made to the Water Company and to the Public Service Commission of Nevada regarding the low water pressure and the lack of sufficient water in certain districts of Las Vegas, notably the Val Verde Subdivision, the Huntridge Subdivision and the Army Air Corps Subdivision. After making our report of July 25th we received advice that the Public Service Commission of Nevada strongly is urging that the Water Company take over the water lines owned by the Boulder Dam Syndicate Inc., a private Utility serving the Boulder Addition, located south of Charleston Boulevard and east of Main Street. The Boulder Addition we are advised, has a 4" cast iron piping system. The water supply is obtained from the two wells with pumps located within the Subdivision but not owned by the Boulder Dam Syndicate* These wells are not to be turned over to the Las Vegas Land & Water Co. if it takes over the service to this Subdivision. 0) DI SQJoCQ Or** U-tIN REFERENCE-ATTENTION: MR________ * h W t MR-As per your request, ws have again gone over this whole matter and made a survey on the ground on September 6th and 7th, also discussed the entire matter with Mr. Polger (Mr. Bracken had been advised when we would be at Las Vegas but was called to Carson City on Company business and was not able to meet us). After the discussion with Mr. Polger and after making a study of the data on pressures and elevations recently obtained, we find that the three recommendations made in our report of July 25th are still required but that some additions and modifications should be made to bring them up—todate. These revised recommendations are outlined as follows: 1 . Install 12“ C.I# pipe from Clark Street southerly in alley between Main and First Streets to Gass St.j thence along east side of Main to first alley south of Charleston Blvd.; thence east one~half block to first alley east of Main St;> thence south along this alley to Wyoming St. -This 12" line should be connected to the pipe lines in Boulder Addition at Charleston Blvd. and at Wyoming St. W/H.J.
