El Portal Theatre 310 Fremont Street Las Vegas, Nevada August 2 9 , 1 9 5 ^ Attention: Mr. E. ¥. Gragin Gentlemen: cc: Robert Allen Public Service Commission Carson City, Nevada Referring to your letter of August 15, 195^ concerning charge for cooling water for refrigeration machines as indicated in our letter of August 6, 1952. P1! for wat;er for cooling refrigeration machines, as set forth in our rate schedule was, in the absence of meters, based upon tonnage of the refrigeration equipment being used. The rates which were approved by the Public Service Commission of Nevada apply equally to all types of water cooled refrigeration machines regardless of the purpose lor which such machines are used or the period and number of hours per day in operation. As you no doubt know, the laws of the State of Nevada prohibit the use of meters. In other cities throughout the country meters afford a basis of charging each customer for water actually used. However, until such time as meters are permitted in Las Vegas, water for refrigeration units must be billed on a tonnage basis. Inasmuch as water is used for cooling of your refrigeration machines, we have no alternative other than to charge the prescribed rates for the service. Enclosed is our invoice, covering services as follows: 1. 1-50 ton Refrigeration Machine for the period of January 1, to and including August 31, 1952. 2. 2-5 ton Refrigeration Machine for the period of July 1, to and including August 31, 1952. Will appreciate early remittance. Yours truly,
